Another year has almost gone! …E05

Another year is about to pass and what have we all got to show for it? Has 2009 been a year of good fortunes, are you looking forward to 2010 just to forget about those rubbish moments which this year has pestered you with? Maybe you have decided that something just isn’t quite for you, whether that be a career choice, new/existing friendships or just something isn’t right somewhere in your life! Now is the time to find out exactly what that thing is boys and girls, New Years resolutions et al.

I think like everyone, I have personally had my ups and downs this year – and I am already busy constructing a list of my 2009 highlights, which might coincide with yours, or it may not. Regardless, it should be fun to see and indeed remember exactly what has been bought to our attentions this year, and what might continue to captivate us in the following year.

A quick round-up of the past few weeks, what has been hitting the headlines? I decided to put aside all the bad stuff, for example, yet more deaths in Afghanistan, bombs in Pakistan, riots in Iran and oh yes, the return of plan bombings!

I went for something a bit less depressing, and concentrate on the more ‘interesting’ news. First hit off the press is a British born guy, who for the past 6 months has had, what some say, the best job in the world! He was paid just under £74k to visit attractions in Australia and blog about them, wow – I need to get on that band wagon!! First of, I actually need some people to properly read mine. His dream job is unfortunately coming to an end on New Years Eve, when he shall have to return to the UK – never mind mate, time to get a proper job! Jokes!

Another rather amusing article that caught my attention last week was Experts Cry Wolf over ‘Faked’ Photo. The author of the rather cool picture scooped a tasty ten grand from the National History Museum after winning their annual wildlife photo competition. It pitches other budding wildlife photographers against each other to come out with the best ‘action’ wildlife shot! However, other entries are now crying about the fact that the picture was obviously staged and not natural. Get over it, if a man can get a wolf to do that, I want to know how, so that I can do it! Finally, and this is something that perhaps we should not laugh at, but hey, at least they don’t pull guns on our kids just messing around, unlike our US counterparts! Enjoy!
