Change in direction, and a face lift!

Yes its been a long time coming, but I thought a change in direction and a much-needed face lift to the blog was needed. I thought about it for a while and realised that most of what I write on here has no relevance to anything, apart from an online sort of diary – which lets be honest, who really cares? So, the new direction will be more concentrated to something relevant, whether that be world news, politics, gaming news or something completely random.

As some of you may know, someone very close to me has recently joined the Army, and while currently in training, she could potentially be over in Afghanistan fighting this supposed ‘war against terrorism’. While I may not totally agree for the reasons that we are over there, I do 100% agree with the fact that we, the public, should be fully supporting our troops who are there. After all, they don’t get a choice in the fact, and what we should never forget is..they are part of someones family…whether that be a husband/wife or an auntie/uncle. It has opened my eyes a lot to how little I used to watch the news, and how ridiculous our Prime Minister is.

How in the world we can have a Prime Minister who can’t even get someone’s name right is beyond me, and quite frankly, the recent un-earthing of a letter sent to the family of a fallen soldier in Afghanistan with the family name being spelt wrong, amongst other things, is disgusting. Enjoy your remaining time at Number 10 Mr. Brown as it shall be short.

Anyways, enough ranting about the current state of affairs in the lovely UK – on to other more exciting things; such as game releases! The two most anticipated games of the second half of the year, in my opinion anyway; Modern Warfare 2 and Assassins Creed 2. However, things are not looking good for anyone who was thinking about buying MW2 on the PC. With the negative aspects of things such as: no dedicated servers, maximum of 18 players, no mod support and a peer-to-peer connection system – I would think twice about buying this game for the Multiplayer aspect. If you player Call of Duty 4: Modern Combat and enjoyed it, take a look at this handy little comparison. If this still doesn’t put you off, and price is no object, then by all means, the single player is probably great – especially judging by the dozens of teaser trailers that have been released. Release date is 10th November 2009. Let me know how it goes!

Next up is AC2, and this is a game I have been waiting for all year! From the first day I got my hands on my first 360, the original AC was one of my first games. The beautifully crafted landscapes, the ease of skipping across rooftops and climbing enormous stone towers in Jerusalem just got me hooked. If that wasn’t enough, it would then allow me to descend rapidly onto my prey, skewering them on the end of my blade. AC2 not only has more aesthetically pleasing cities and ambient features, but more puzzle breaking, more death-defying leaps and moves and yes, more ways to kill your ever-growing pile of victims! Can’t wait for this one to arrive – due for release on 20th November 2009.

Jumping forward a few hundred years, and for anyone who loved the rather old series now, Band of Brothers, you are going to love this. HBO have announced a new ‘mini series’ called Pacific, which is being produced and directed by the same people who did Band of Brothers. Catch the trailer over at HBO: The Pacific and I guarantee you will not be disappointed!!

So, what next? Well, I hope the direction of this blog is a bit more clear now. It’s not just me endlessly talking about my life and what I get up too, as not many people really care. I try to keep everything relevant to the present-day, and this is something I intend to keep going. Hope you enjoy reading.
